Cheers to Oktoberfest!
When I first met Trish back in March in Tokyo, literally on day 2 of knowing each other she goes - "so a big group of us are going to Oktoberfest this year...you should come." She already knew what kind of traveler I was - and 6 months later of course I was on that trip! Not too much to write about this portion of our 10 day trip...mostly just dirndle shopping and lots of beer in heavy steins that made for a great arm workout!
Trip Highlights
We arrived in Munich, after our quick flight over from Berlin - ate some lunch and then headed over to Marienplatz.
Our most critical task of the day...dirndle shopping! Near Marienplatz there were a couple shops and thankfully our entire group found something to wear.
Shopping complete...of course we had to treat ourselves to beer at Hofbrauhaus afterwards!
And finally...the day has arrived! Oktoberfest!!
Had to get some photos in our new outfits first
Let the drinking begin! We had tickets to the Schottenhamel tent and spent the first half of our day there. Standing on the tables, drinking beer, eating the most amazing rotisserie chicken and singing along with the band!
...and 6 hours later - a little fresh air and day light was in order! Off to explore the Oktoberfest fair grounds.
Who are we kidding - time for more beer! One more tent visit to wrap up our Oktoberfest experience.
Auf Wiedersehen Munich!
