Trisha & Elizabeth's Story
September 19, 2020
Our story began in March 2017 when fate intervened and we both ended up together while each on a solo trip to Tokyo, Japan for 3 nights. We were on the same outbound flight from LA, same bus to the same hotel, same first day city tour and same return flight! When you meet another crazy person who hops on an 11 hour flight to explore a foreign city for just a long weekend...you know you’ve found someone special!
Trisha grew up in Northridge, CA, went to the University of Southern California, lives in Valencia, CA and works for Accenture as a management consultant. Elizabeth grew up in Beaumont, TX, went to Texas A&M University, lived in Houston, TX - now Valencia, CA, and works for Capgemini as a management consultant. We were familiar with each other’s worlds - usually on a plane for a business trip, always exploring some new destination in our free time, living in hotels more often than not and each having homes that became a landing spot for laundry, TV and catching up with friends and family.
Elizabeth was working in Los Angeles in 2017, traveling back and forth to Houston on the weekends. This allowed time for us to connect a few times in downtown LA for birthday celebrations, museums and good meals. We quickly became friends, even heading to Hawaii together for Elizabeth’s 1 million mile United Airlines celebration trip.
On June 14, 2017 we both realized this felt like more than travel partners and friends and started a new chapter in our story by going on our first official date in Pasadena, CA, eating sushi at Sugarfish restaurant and sipping a Japanese whiskey at Magnolia House bar.

Over the next 2.5 years our relationship grew stronger through time spent at home, missing each other while away on business trips, getting to know new family and friends, and of course traveling the world together: A catamaran island-hopping trip through the British Virgin Islands; Germany for Oktoberfest; Zermatt, Switzerland to see The Matterhorn; a 3-night trip to Tokyo DisneySea and DisneyLand booked 12 hours in advance to celebrate birthdays; a 2-week long around-the-world trip from Tokyo, Japan to Venice, Italy to Athens, Greece to Stockholm, Sweden; London for Trisha’s 1 million mile United Airlines celebration; weekend sightseeing in Seoul, South Korea; another trip in March to Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan celebrating where we met 2 years ago; and finally our last trip before COVID quarantine to Cape Town, South Africa, a safari in Gaborone, Botswana with pit stops in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Frankfurt, Germany. Plus too many domestic trips to even count and many trips to Texas so Elizabeth could share her Texas roots with Trisha. What an amazing journey it has been so far and we look forward to MANY more adventures in the years to come!
On December 25, 2019 we knew in our hearts that we were each other’s person for life and each asked the other to marry them in a special moment at home on Christmas morning.
For two traveling souls, the past 6 months of quarantine at home has strengthened our relationship even further and taught us that we really can be perfectly OK sitting at home watching TV, cooking meals and just enjoying each other's company. While we love and deeply miss our international adventures - we’ve realized all we need in life is our best friend by our side!
While we know these times are not ideal to host a wedding, we felt strongly about saying our vows and committing to each other in 2020. Most importantly for the love we share, but also for what this year has taught us - that life is short and you never know what might happen. For that reason, there is no better time than the present to marry your best friend and commit to the love of your lives. We are saddened that all of our family and friends cannot be with us in person to celebrate - but we look forward to post-pandemic in 2021 when we can celebrate with everyone sharing big hugs all around, dinner, dancing and merriment!
From our home in Valencia, CA we send our love to friends and family near and far! We thank you for your support and blessings as we begin this next chapter of our lives. Stay tuned for wedding photos, celebration details and more traveling adventures!

Elizabeth & Trisha
